Flag System
Beaches with lifeguards have a flag system in operation to show areas which
are safe for various activities.
Black and white chequered flag - no swimmers, only surfers and canoes
Red and yellow flags - patrols take place between these flags, best place
to swim
Red flag - danger, do not enter the water
Coastguard services are available for those in trouble or danger on the cliffs or at sea.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed on the following beaches in summer :-
Long Rock, Eastern Green, Wherrytown, Lamorna cove, Porthchapel, Porthgwarra,
Porthkidney, Nanjizel, Gwenver
Dogs are not allowed on the following beaches in summer :-
Mousehole, Porthcurno, Sennen Cove, Marazion, Porthminster, Porthgwidden,
St Ives Harbour, Porthmeor, Hayle Towans, Mexico Towans
Porthcurno Beach next to the Minack Theatre
